Club`s History
Established in 1968, Laverton Swimming Club (LSC) has been synonymous with swimming in Melbourne`s West in promoting the development of recreational, and competitive swimming for swimmers of all abilities and genders from development through to National Championships. Administration of the Laverton Swimming Club has been run by a committee of volunteers comprising of parents and young adults who have come through the (LSC) program, and does so till this day.
However, between the years 2000 - 2010 due to lack of pool space, changes in coaching programs, other clubs becoming more aggressive in their athlete recruitment, the Laverton Swimming Club struggled to maintain a competitive position in the surrounding area it operated in, the club was contemplating closure.

With the introduction of a professional and dedicated coaching team in 2011, the term,” Athlete focused, Coach driven, Parent supported" was the catalyst in bringing back the luster to the Laverton Swimming Club name.
The teams main focus was to emphasize the importance of a positive club culture built around inclusion, integrity, respect, dedication, and self -discipline.

The coaching staff prescribing a balanced training program based off world leading practices, together with providing a positive learning environment and support in assisting athletes in reaching their full potential, and adjusting training needs to accommodate academic requirements has seen the Laverton Swimming Club grow from strength to strength over the years.

Throughout the years, the Laverton Swimming Club has maintained a strong representation in the competitive stream, and club level swimming producing a number of National, Open National and International representatives.
2021saw further changes to the structure and improvement of the Laverton Swimming Club. Firstly, changing the operating name to Laverton Wyndham Aquatics (LWA), to better reflect the demographics it operates in.
Secondly, and perhaps the most important, the collaboration of a joint venture with other entities.
The Laverton Wyndham Aquatics is now considered a strong contender as one of the Western suburbs strongest Clubs, and perhaps one of the largest through their membership base.
