Sandro(Alex) Vasta - Head Coach
​Alex is an experienced Nationally Accredited Ascta, Silver (Advanced) level swim coach, with a demonstrated track record of coaching athletes to Australian Age and Open National Championship Titles. Over the past 15 years Alex has been an integral part of the LWA (previously Laverton Swimming Club) programs success, providing a balanced training program, encouraging athletes to thrive and learn from self-improvement, and teaching life-long skills from the swimming environment.
Alex has been the recipient of several ASCTA awards including Swimming Victorian age group coaching achievement at Australian Age Championships 2013, a special achievement placing a swimmer on an Australian team 2015, a special recognition for placing swimmers on the Victorian State team 2016 and most recent Victorian Open Water coach of the year 2017-2018.
Peter Botheras - Head Coach
Peter is an Advanced(formaly Silver) Nationally Accredited Ascta licenced Coach, who has successfully coached swimmers to Australian Age & Open, and State Age & Open Championship standards. A competitive swimmer and Waterpolo player for 20 years(including the Victoria Junior Men's sides of 1982-83) together with 20 year of successful coaching, Peter has extensive knowledge and a philosophy that supports competitive swimmers of all ability to achieve their goals. Peter has been the recipient of several Ascta coaching awards such as Swimming Victorias Age group achievement at Australian age Championships, and special recognition for placing swimmer on the Victorian State Team. Away from coaching Peter`s other interest are hot rods, genealogy and reading.
Nadeej De Silva - Assistant Coach
Nadeej joins the Laverton Wyndham Aquatics coaching Team with a good understanding of stroke development and the fundamentals of good competitive stroke technique. Nadeej`s coaching philosophy focuses on building correct swimming technique in a encouraging environment, while still including fun in all training sessions. Having completed the Nationally accredited Swim Australia Teacher of Competitive Strokes, Nadeej is currently working towards Development Accreditation (formally bronze license).

Cartier Vasta - Junior Development Coach
Cartier brings to the team a great deal of personal experience in swimming. Cartier started competing at the age of 6 representing LWA at State and National Competition. Her biggest achievement to date is winning State and National age Championship Titles. With A good understanding of stroke development Cartier provides an encouraging environment where swimmers feel confident to challenge themselves to take their swimming to the next level. Cartier is a Nationally accredited Swim Australia Teacher of Competitive Strokes and Cert IV in coaching, currently working towards Development Coach Accreditation (formally bronze license).
Bianca Mathews - Junior Development Coach
Bianca is Nationally accredited Swim Australia Teacher of Competitive Strokes and is currently working towards Development Coach Accreditation (formally bronze license). A current National level swimmer, Bianca has a good understanding of stroke development, has a calm and methodical approach to teaching and coaching bringing an inclusive and adaptable mindset to developing young athletes.
Bianca provide an encouraging environment where swimmers feel confident to challenge themselves to take their swimming to the next level
